A Swingin’ Texas Country Summer Block Party at Levy Park Conservancy
Celebrate your Texas pride with a visit to the Swingin’ Texas Country Summer Block Party at Levy Park Conservancy on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 5:00 PM! This exciting Texas Country themed block party will feature free activities, music, a variety of delicious food trucks and so much more. The string swing band Western Bling will be performing, giving you and your family a chance to practice your Texas Swing dance moves. Plus, you will not want to miss the free bubble stations, face painting, hula hoops and jump roping. Summer Festival: Celebrating The Moon
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with the fun filled summer festival called Celebrating The Moon! Join the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 5 PM to 10 PM to commemorate this milestone event in history with music, art activities, yummy food trucks Popston and Coffee-Q, fun games and more! This event is intended for all ages so bring your whole family! Some highlights of this lunar bash include delicious moon pies and cakes from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Cafe, the art making activities Silver Moon Surfaces and Planetary Paper Marbling, a kinetic sand touch station, the Space Invaders arcade game, an Outer Space Storybook Station with Harris County Public Library, various activities with experts from NASA and star gazing with the Houston Astronomical Society on the BBVA Roof Garden. You will also have the chance to hear the Midnight Chamber Players perform as well as the local band Flower graves!

7th Annual VegFest Houston 2019 Presented by The Vegan Society of Peace

Forget playing your usual bingo game at the local bingo hall. Blanket Bingo puts an exciting spin on this classic game, allowing you and your family or friends to play bingo on the lawn of Market Square Park while you enjoy great music and awesome prizes! If you are a Houstonian who likes to indulge in barbecue and Tex-Mex, you are going to love the 2019 Tex-Mex Barbecue Block Party taking place on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Saint Arnold Brewing Company! Saint Arnold Brewing Company and The Houston Barbecue Festival are excited to announce this exciting event where all attendees can celebrate the delicious influence that traditional Tex-Mex cooking has on Texas style barbecue. Attendees will enjoy food from a huge variety of vendors along with refreshing beer by Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Watch Movies In The Water With Float & Flick at Hotel Derek
You have yet another opportunity to enjoy a movie outdoors on a warm summer night with your loved ones, but this time you will be floating in the pool of Hotel Derek! With Hotel Derek’s Summer Float and Flick Movie Series, you can gather your family around the pool on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 7:30 PM to watch Apollo 13! Celebrate The 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 At Discovery Green
If you want yet another opportunity to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, visit Discovery Green on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 6 PM to 10 PM! This celebration is a free event open to the public that will feature a paratrooper landing by the Golden Knights, the United States Army's official aerial parachute demonstration team as well as exhibitions from the Johnson Space Center and the Lone Star Flight Museum! You can also hear commentary by Douglas Brinkley who wrote the book American Moonshot which explores America’s race to the moon!
