I could not be happier with the ease of setting up my services and the lack of pressure when deciding which services I wanted completed. Communication was great and thorough. On the day of my service, Damon Moore called about 30 minutes prior to arriving to confirm his arrival time. Damon is professional, courteous and thorough with his work. Thanks for a great experience and look forward to your ongoing monitoring of the service.

Products To Help You Stay Cool While Outdoors In the Summer

Beat The Heat With A Cooling Towel

A cooling towel is a great and easy way to stay cool when you are spending time in the hot outdoors. The Frogg Toggs Cooling Towel can be used multiple times and only needs to be run under water to start working. The technologically advanced material of the Frogg Togg Cooling Towel will reach almost freezing temperatures that last for hours to keep you cool and feeling fresh in the heat. This towel can be wrapped around your neck or used to wipe off sweat. Not only is this towel easy to use, but it is also compact and easy to take with you on outdoor outings when it is hot outside. Plus, the Frogg Toggs Cooling Towel can be cleaned in your washing machine so that it is ready to be used again and again as you have fun in the sun. Shop the Frogg Toggs Cooling Towel here.

Spritz On A Facial Misting Spray

Facial misting sprays are another way to easily cool down while you are out and about in the heat. The Evian Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray is made from refreshing mineral water that can be applied to your face when you are having trouble beating the heat. This particular formula comes in a metal bottle which helps the mineral water to stay cool, so that you are offered an invigorating cool down with each spritz. Plus, the nozzle on the bottle distributes the water in a fine mist for comfortable application. Shop the Evian Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray here.

Stay Cool With A USB Powered Mini Misting Fan That Connects To Your Phone

Not only will a USB powered mini misting fan connect to your phone and keep you cool while you are out in the sun, but the So Much Fan Portable USB Fan will also connect to your laptop or tablet to move away heat when you are sitting stationary at home. This convenient portable fan will bring a chilly breeze straight to your face or body to keep you comfortable wherever you are. Because this fan runs off of the energy from your phone, laptop or tablet, no batteries are required. The small and convenient size of this fan make it great for travel or even your office. Even though this fan is small, it is quite powerful and will provide you with the cooling relief you need when you start to get too hot out in the sun. Shop the So Much Fan Portable USB Fan here.

Hydrate And Cool Down With A Misting Water Bottle

Perhaps one of the most important ways to stay cool and safe in the heat is by staying hydrated. With the O2COOL ArcticSqueeze Insulated Mist 'N Sip Squeeze Bottle, not only will you stay hydrated, but you will also enjoy the added benefit of misting cool water on your face. This bottle features a double insulated wall which will keep the water inside colder for longer. The misting trigger delivers a spritz of water to your face or body so that you remain cool, comfortable and hydrated while hanging out in the heat outdoors. Shop this durable and easy to grip misting water bottle here.

Do Not Leave Home Without Your Air Conditioner

If a portable fan or face mist will just not cut it, you can always invest in a handheld air conditioner to take with you when you know you will be spending an extended period of time outdoors or in any type of hot environment. The WoneNice Portable Small Fan & Mini Air Conditioner can easily be taken with you wherever you go, whether it is a trip to Disneyland or your local park. Keep Your Drink Colder For Longer

A cold drink can feel essential when spending any amount of time outdoors in the blazing Houston heat. However, it is often times hard to keep your drink cold and filled with ice while the sun beats down. You can now rest assured that your drink will stay cool and refreshing with the Anti Bacterial Stainless Steel Xummit Whiskey Stones. These stainless steel ice cubes will chill your drink faster than traditional ice cubes, will not melt in the sun and will keep your drink colder for longer. Slap On Some Cooling Wristbands

Following the same idea as the cooling towel, cooling wristbands can be placed directly onto your body for a quick cool down. However, cooling wrist bands are especially beneficial because they target your wrist where your body pulses. Keeping this area cool is a great way to cool down the rest of your body in a hurry. To use the Mission Enduracool Wristband, just dip them in water and wring them out. This will instantly activate the cooling function of the wristbands. This product is lightweight and easily portable, making them a great addition to your on the go travel bag. Shop the Mission Enduracool Wristband here.

Go The Natural Route With Cooling Essential Oils

Essential oils are cherished for their wide variety of uses and you can now appreciate them further as they provide cool, refreshing relief during those hot days. The family of essential oils that will help you beat the heat are those which include menthol as a main ingredient. Menthol is known to be cooling on the skin and is useful when you are looking for some relief from the rays of the hot sun. Read below to find out which essential oils you should take with you on your next trip to the beach or to any outdoor destination where you expect to sweat.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oils include a high level of menthol that can help to cool you on those hot days. As an added benefit, peppermint essential oil will also relax you and ease tension headaches, muscle aches and other general pains. Peppermint oil is also known to be a stimulant that can help you to feel energized if you are feeling drowsy in the blazing outdoor heat.

Spearmint Essential Oils

Spearmint essential oils are sometimes preferred as a more mild alternative to the stronger peppermint oil. This essential oil provides many of the same benefits as peppermint essential oils, but is less aggressive in scent, as it features a lower concentration of menthol. You can also use spearmint essential oils as an antioxidant.

If you do not like the smell of peppermint or want a more mild essential oil to keep you cool as you spend time outdoors in the heat, try the below essential oils for natural relief.

Eucalyptus Essential Oils

A much more mild alternative to essential oils which contain menthol are eucalyptus essential oils. These oils not only keep you cool, but are anti-inflammatory, can act as a decongestant and will not irritate your skin. If you have children, this is perhaps the best essential oil to use, as it is the most gentle.

A Mixture Of Spearmint and Lemongrass Essential Oils

One way to tone down the strong menthol scent of spearmint essential oils is to mix it with a more mild oil like lemongrass oil. Lemongrass oil smells of fresh lemon and when combined with spearmint essential oils, will refresh and cool you while you spend time in the hot sun.

Tips For Staying Safe And Cool While You Spend Time In The Hot Outdoors

  1. Stay Hydrated

Remaining hydrated is one of the best ways to ensure that your body will remain cool and functioning optimally in the beating sun. It is recommended that you drink sixteen ounces of water every hour while you are spending time in the heat. This will help to prevent dehydration and replenish your body.

If you are exercising outdoors in the heat, the amount of water you should drink will increase. It is recommended by experts that you drink approximately sixteen ounces of water between one and two hours before you exercise. Then, fifteen minutes before you begin your workout, drink another sixteen ounces of water. As you continue your work out, it is recommended that you drink five ounces of water every ten minutes. Once your workout is over, drink another sixteen ounces of water. These amounts are intended to be used as a loose guide and can change depending on your body weight and type of exercise.

2. Pay Attention To The Heat Index

The heat index and the actual temperature outside will often times differ. The heat index is the combination of the current temperature and the level of humidity outside. This will often make the outdoor temperature feel hotter than it actually is which can take a toll on your body if you are not prepared. Pack and plan for the heat index as you are getting ready for your trip outdoors.

3. Cool Down Your Pressure Points

There are certain parts of your body which contain a high concentration of blood vessels that are situated close to the skin. When these body parts come in contact with anything that is cold, you body is able to cool down much faster. If you find that you begin to feel overheated while spending time outside, simply apply a cold, wet towel to your ankles, wrists, elbow bends, neck, temples and behind your knees for fast relief.

4. Avoid Direct Sunlight Between 11 AM And 2 PM

The sun will shine brightest and burn hottest between the hours of 11 AM and 2 PM. If possible, try to stay in the shade or indoors between these times to avoid this period where sunburns are most likely to occur.

Although the warm weather brings many opportunities for exciting outdoor activities, it also brings with it the potential dangers of over exposure to the sun. By simply following these tips, you and your family can ensure that your adventures in the sun will remain safe and fun wherever you are.
