ROACH ELIMINATION IN AUSTIN

Friendly cockroach treatments by Natran.

We know how intrusive it is to have roaches in your home. And they're not just unsightly - their saliva, urine and fecal droppings are a common trigger for allergies and asthma attacks, especially in children, and they can spread some nasty diseases. A frightening 63% of US properties are home to cockroach allergens (yikes!).

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you spot a roach, call us right away. A Natran technician will come out to your home as quickly as they can. Once there, we'll inspect your home, and if you have a roach infestation, we'll get to work. We use powerful, plant-based treatments to flush and eliminate cockroaches from their hiding places.

Depending on the severity of your infestation, you may need 2 or 3 follow-up treatments until the roaches and their eggs are entirely gone. Once we've finished treatment, we'll also talk to you about how to prevent the roaches from coming back.

SPOTTING THE SIGNS

  • Eggs - You may find cockroach eggs (a.k.a. oothecae) around your home. These are oval-shaped and usually yellow/brown.
  • Droppings - You may find cockroach droppings in your cupboards, bookcases, shelves, or behind furniture. Cockroach droppings are small and dark, and they look like ground black pepper.
  • Strong odor - As a roach infestation progresses, you might notice a strong, unpleasant smell. A cockroach infestation can smell musty and greasy, or even like urine.
  • Cockroaches - If you spot roaches in your home, you need to give us a call. Roaches are nocturnal, so you'll most likely see them at night. But if they've exhausted their food source, you may also see them exploring your home during the day searching for food.

GERMAN ROACHES VS AMERICAN

If you have a roach infestation, it's likely that you either have German roaches or American roaches.

  • German Roaches

When people talk about cockroaches, they usually mean German cockroaches. They're attracted to unclean environments, so they thrive in untidy, unhygienic homes. They're nocturnal, and love dark, moist spaces, so they can often be found behind washing machines and furniture or in cupboards, pantries, drawers, or dark crevices.

German roaches are often brought into people's homes in shopping bags, boxes, or even from guests. They breed faster than you can kill them, and before you know it, you could have a significant infestation on your hands.

  • American Roaches

American cockroaches (a.k.a. tree roaches) come into your home from outside. Unfortunately for Texans, you will likely find an American roach in your home at some point - it's just a product of living in the Lone Star State, and they're not associated with poor hygiene at home.

The good news is that spotting an American roach very rarely means you have an infestation. Still, you can prevent these pests from coming into your home by pairing a tidy yard with one of our EcoZone plans. We'll keep roaches (and a whole lot of other pests!) at bay.
