Great service! Leo, our technician was very knowledgeable and professional, he helped me understand the do's and don'ts and how to keep my house free of pests. The green company is very pet and child friendly so we didn't loose time from our daily lives. For privacy and out of respect for your property, technicians do not open closed doors so you gotta let them know which rooms you want service in. Price is great, and includes unlimited follow-ups. Great job, thank you.

Tim Cloud is thorough and well spoken when it comes to explaining treatment. He gets the job done and we do not experience pests in between sprays, which is really appreciated.

Nathan green services : it was such a pleasure to meet your technician Mr Raul Espinosa. He was very knowledgeable about his job and meticulously checked the property and explained to us that unluckily we are connected to other neighbors which would’ve made his work impossible since the others apparently don’t care about the presence of mice in their attics and the six owners would’ve had to decide to do the job. We really appreciate his time and knowledge . Such a great asset for your company.

Cindy Davis

Alex was very thorough and informative of the pest/roach problem I am experiencing. He cared and listened to my concerns. I am hopeful the pesticide and bait work to get rid of these pests.

Whether you have Marc, Raul, or Damion coming by your home for your pest control needs, you will be very pleased with their service. They are highly professional and thorough. After the first pest control folks we used incorrectly told us we had American cockroaches when in fact we had mice, we reached out to Natran and they came by right away. Natran's traps helped us exterminate a number of mice and they also sealed the openings at our home. I highly recommend their services. And Kate at their office is great and will connect you to the right pest control professional, who is very well trained and dependable.

Debbie Hall

Very attentive, articulate, and thorough service person. We appreciate the effort he put in to find the dead rat that had escaped the trap.

Julie Brandom Atun

Thorough and professional!!!

Doug Block

Great pest company. Highly recommend them for fast, effective, and professional pest control. We'll be using them for regular service from now on!

Kevin Bice

Fast, friendly service. They seem to know what they’re doing, and I look forward to working with them in the coming year.

If you have a carpenter ant infestation in your home, you’re not alone. They’re common pests in Houston and Austin. These critters can cause real structural damage to your home, so it’s important that you get them removed as soon as possible. But that’s not the only issue with carpenter ants.

Carpenter ants have strong mandibles (lower jaws), so when they bite, you’re probably going to feel it straight away. So, in today’s blog, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about carpenter ant bites, including what to expect if you’re bitten and how to respond to a bite.

What are carpenter ants?

Carpenter ants are commonly found in Texas. They’re roughly a quarter of an inch long and often black, brown, orange, or a combination of the three colors.

While only small in size, carpenter ants can cause a lot of damage to your home. And pretty quickly, too. They can build nests inside the wood of your home, potentially causing dangerous (and costly) structural damage.

Carpenter ants love moist areas near food, and they especially love sweet food, greasy food, and meat and eggs. So, if you’re going to get a carpenter ant infestation, it’s likely to be near a refrigerator, or another source of food.

What to expect from a carpenter ant bite

When someone is bitten by a carpenter ant, it’s very rarely serious and, and it’s not all that likely that you’ll get bitten by carpenter ants if you have an infestation.

They usually bite in an act of self-defence if their nests are disturbed. The bites don’t contain venom or spread diseases. However, if you do get bitten, you might experience:

  • Redness of the skin
  • A pea-sized lump at the site of the wound
  • A burning or stinging sensation

Carpenter ants can spray formic acid when they feel threatened. You may have a stronger burning or stinging sensation if the spray gets into the bite wound.

What to do if you’re bitten by a carpenter ant

In most cases, you won’t need to take action after being bitten by a carpenter ant, other than making sure you keep away from the infestation.

You can treat the bite by cleaning the area, holding a cool compress on it, and applying an antiseptic cream.* Avoid scratching the wound as much as possible.

It’s not always easy for people to tell insects apart, so you may not be 100% certain that you were bitten by a carpenter ant. Other types of bites can be more serious (or you may be allergic) so, if you’re experiencing swelling, or worsening symptoms, it could be time to call your doctor.
